The ”Cocinha dos Ganhões” is a gastronomic event that contributes to the qualification and dissemination of tourism of Concelho de Estremoz and that, over time, has been reaffirmed in the cultural, economic and social of the region of Alentejo, being already rooted in the people´s memory of Estremoz.
This is an event that contributes to the promotion of tourism in the concelho and Alentejo region, translated into an adequate cultural heritage tourism use of it, through the use of the figure of ”Ganhão ”(traditional rural Alentejo worker up to the 80s of the twentieth century) and the food that was associated. The event helps in this creatively way to the competitiveness of Estremoz and Alentejo as a tourist destination.In this event, apart from the presence of hoteliers and bakers guild should also note that of other economic sectors such as handicrafts and regional products, especially of wines, cheeses, meats and herbs.
